Winter is perfumes’ most favorite season. Why? Because the cold temperatures give all those delicate and sophisticated notes the necessary time they need in order to fully express themselves.
Spicy, woody, sweet fragrances, also known as orientals, are great to wear during the winter months. Spicy fragrances are warm, exotic and sophisticated. Perfect for the winter season, woody scents are dry, musky, earthy, and often considered unisex. Sweet fragrances can be a little overpowering in warmer months, but are perfect in cold weather.
Winter perfumes should have rich scents along with sweet notes like amber, vanilla and cinnamon. There are various perfumes which combine sweet fragrances like oranges, caramel, lemon, honey and fruits.

  1. Black Orchid Tom Ford perfume is so delicately warm and sweet. It's such a comforting scent that makes you feel warm and cozy. I love the sweetness of this and although the chocolate and amber are not dominant, it are there. Even with just one spray, the smell of Black Orchid fills the entire room. Works well in the cooler winter months. Its definitely a unique scent. I'm so glad I found this fragrance and it is a new favorite for Winter scent.
  2. The base notes of a perfume are more important in the winter months. The base notes are the heaviest part of the fragrance, the part the lingers, while top notes fade quickly. Patchouli, vanilla, amber, and sandalwood are common base notes you'll find more regularly in winter perfumes.
